Targeting and scaling out improved water management and food production in the Limpopo Basin

Duration : January 1, 2011 - December 31, 2011
(Extended to December 31, 2012)
Overview:

The Limpopo 1 (L1) Project will contribute to achieving the Basin Development Challenge (BDC) objective of improving rainwater and small reservoir management to contribute to poverty reduction and improved livelihoods resilience. It will do this by producing a framework of web-based and electronic decision support tools that will identify promising sites for agricultural water management interventions for smallholder farming systems. The purpose is to contribute to improved water management and increasing food production in the basin, based on assessments of social-economic and biophysical conditions, and within the framework of basin-scale water management realities.
