Duration : January 1, 2008 - December 31, 2008
(Extended to December 31, 2009)
Overview:

The specific objectives of the project were threefold. They dealt with methodological development, capacity building, and the participatory construction of propositions for local and concrete adaptations to increase water productivity. The main objectives carried out were: offering tools and a methodology for their use to enhance the capacity of expression of the different stakeholders? perceptions, facilitating their collective assessment of the problems at stake, and improved coordination among users through the collective identification and assessment of scenarios of change that lead to agreed-upon action plans. Training a group of scientists and developed officers engaged in the action-research process on this methodology and its tools. They belonged to universities, government agencies, and nongovernmental organizations. They tested and adapted the method and its related tools at the key sites. A network of users were created and linked to an international network.
